Senior Android Developer (Remote, Costa Rica)

About the role

We are seeking a highly experienced Android Developer with over 9 years of hands‑on expertise to design and deliver scalable, high‑performance mobile applications. The role is remote, based in Costa Rica, and involves close collaboration with product managers, designers, and backend engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain advanced Android applications.
• Collaborate with product, design, and backend teams to define and deliver new features.
• Ensure performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
• Identify and fix bugs and performance bottlenecks.
• Implement best practices for mobile security and data protection.
• Participate in code reviews and mentor junior developers.
• Stay updated with the latest Android trends and technologies.

Required profile

• 9+ years of experience in Android development.
• Strong proficiency in Kotlin and/or Java.
• Experience with Android SDK, Android Studio, and Gradle.
• Solid understanding of Android UI/UX principles and Material Design.
• Experience with RESTful APIs and third‑party integrations.
• Strong knowledge of architectural patterns such as MVVM, MVP, and Clean Architecture.
• Familiarity with version control systems (Git).
• Strong debugging and problem‑solving skills.
