Senior AI Platform Engineer / Knowledge Graph Engineer

About the role

Coforge is hiring a Senior AI Platform Engineer / Knowledge Graph Engineer for a remote position in LATAM. The role centres on a core platform for entity management, governance, cross-references (XREFs), relationships and business context discovery, built around knowledge graphs and entity recognition.

Key responsibilities

• Evolve and enhance the entity management platform, including governance, cross-references, relationships and business context discovery.
• Design, develop and improve Named Entity Recognition (NER) pipelines using LLMs, open-source NLP models, gazetteers, pattern matching and blacklist-based approaches.
• Extend entity extraction to additional content sources, including streaming and real-time content.
• Improve search through entity resolution, personalized search, metadata filtering and relationship-driven exploration.
• Design and maintain graph-based relationship models supporting traversal, visualization and business context mapping.
• Implement entity-level security and access control across retrieval, search and exploration workflows.
• Integrate new data sources and connect with downstream applications and business platforms.
• Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions and AI-powered workflows, using AI-assisted development tools while validating generated code and architecture.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across business domains, and contribute to onboarding, mentoring and knowledge sharing.

Required profile

• 7+ years of software engineering experience, including data-intensive platforms in production.
• Proven experience ingesting, synchronizing and managing data from multiple sources.
• Strong systems thinking, advanced architecture and data modeling, and ability to model complex business domains.
• Permission-aware security controls, restricted-data filtering and excellent communication skills; advanced English.

Required skills

• Elasticsearch and/or OpenSearch, information retrieval and entity resolution.
• Graph databases and knowledge graphs, including Neo4j and Cypher.
• NLP and NER with Gemma, Llama, GLiNER, spaCy and LLM-based extraction.
• PostgreSQL, Kubernetes and Datadog.
• AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude and ChatGPT.
• Preferred: Oil & Gas, energy, utilities or mining background; enterprise search, knowledge management and data governance experience.
