Senior Aftermarket Mechanical Project Engineer

About the role

The Senior Aftermarket Mechanical Project Engineer supports the mechanical and hydraulic repair business for turbine mechanical systems across North America and Latin America. The role combines field service, proposal development, pricing, and project execution while providing leadership to the aftermarket engineering team based in Costa Rica.

Key responsibilities

• Assist customers with product, project, and technical inquiries and participate in troubleshooting meetings.
• Coordinate proposal creation and walk‑downs for LAM turbine mechanical projects in partnership with the Pittsburgh engineering team.
• Provide pricing, lead‑time estimates, and high‑level cost estimations for turbine mechanical rebuild services.
• Prepare order management documentation to initiate aftermarket rebuild projects.
• Execute rebuild projects: quote, procure, track equipment delivery, coordinate shipment to customers, and manage project financials, invoicing, and sales reporting.
• Travel up to 80% of the time to provide on‑site support and oversee installations.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in mechanical design and turbine systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• 3+ years in procurement or planning, including budgeting and cost estimation for engineering projects.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities.
• Basic knowledge of hydraulic control systems and experience providing on‑site customer support.
• Fluent English (spoken and written) – B2 level or higher.
