Senior Accounting Clerk

About the role

The Senior Accounting Clerk will ensure that all accounting transactions are processed efficiently and accurately, supporting the finance team in meeting service level agreements and regulatory requirements. You will work closely with staff accountants and senior accountants to resolve complex issues and maintain the integrity of financial records.

Key responsibilities

• Reconcile bank, credit‑card and other financial statements.
• Prepare journal entries and maintain the general ledger.
• Assist in the preparation of balance sheets, income statements and cash‑flow statements.
• Support the update of accounting policies, procedures and internal controls to ensure IFRS‑GAAP compliance.
• Respond to internal and external inquiries on accounting matters.
• Guide junior accounting clerks and provide training as needed.
• Participate in special projects such as audits, budgeting and forecasting.

Required profile

• 1–3 years of experience in accounting or finance.
• Technical high‑school degree in accounting or at least one year of college accounting studies.
• Fluent English and Spanish (B2+ oral and written).
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, GAAP and general accounting principles.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Detail‑oriented, able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in accounting is a plus.
