Senior Accountant

About the role

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our dynamic finance team in San José, Costa Rica. You will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial reporting while supporting strategic financial management.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and analyse financial reports, ensuring compliance with IFRS, US GAAP or NIIF standards.
• Manage month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end closing processes, including account reconciliations and journal entries.
• Oversee general accounting functions and provide support to financial management.
• Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with Sarbanes‑Oxley requirements.
• Stay current with Costa Rican tax regulations, auditing requirements and Free Trade Zone laws.
• Manage cash‑flow analysis and provide optimisation recommendations.
• Support internal and external audits and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Utilise accounting software to maintain data integrity and efficient reporting.
• Identify and implement process improvements for greater efficiency and accuracy.

Required profile

• 3 to 5 years of experience in accounting, auditing, treasury, cash‑flow management or finance.
• Proven experience in financial reporting, account reconciliations and closing processes.
• Strong understanding of accounting standards, tax regulations and financial compliance.
• Excellent attention to detail, organisational and analytical abilities.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.

Required skills

• Knowledge of IFRS, US GAAP and NIIF standards.
• Proficiency with accounting software.
• Cash‑flow management expertise.
• Understanding of Costa Rican tax regulations and auditing requirements.
• Familiarity with Free Trade Zone regulations.
