Senior Accountant (Contador)

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Accountant to independently manage the full accounting cycle for eight companies. The professional will ensure that financial information is reliable, timely and complies with applicable accounting and tax regulations, while providing insightful analysis to the Finance Management team.

Key responsibilities

• Execute the complete accounting cycle for assigned entities, recording and validating all transactions with supporting documentation.
• Perform bank and ledger reconciliations, analyze and clear pending balances, and manage fixed‑asset accounting, depreciation, provisions and reclassifications.
• Lead monthly and year‑end closing processes, prepare financial statements and required reports, and explain significant variances.
• Support tax compliance by preparing information for tax filings and coordinating with external tax advisors.
• Respond to internal and external audit requests, prepare supporting schedules, and follow up on audit recommendations.
• Maintain and update accounting procedures, identify opportunities for process simplification and automation, and participate in accounting system implementation or migration projects.
• Monitor internal controls, detect weaknesses or risks, and propose corrective actions.

Required profile

• Senior‑level accounting professional with the ability to work autonomously and exercise sound judgment.
• Strong analytical mindset, capable of questioning inconsistencies, identifying risks and communicating findings to management.
• Up‑to‑date knowledge of relevant accounting and tax regulations.
• Experience handling multiple entities and complex closing cycles.

Required skills

• Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (as used by the organization).
• Advanced Excel or spreadsheet skills for data analysis.
• Understanding of tax compliance and audit processes.
