Senior Accountant Analyst – Payroll & Benefits

About the role

Baxter is seeking a Senior Accountant Analyst to lead payroll, benefits, and accrued liabilities accounting for its Americas region (UCAN and LATAM). The role supports month‑end close, audit preparation, and provides financial insight to business partners.

Key responsibilities

• Execute manual journal entries, account reconciliations, and month‑end close tasks for payroll, benefits, and accrued liabilities.
• Perform balance‑sheet variance analysis and prepare supporting documentation.
• Collaborate with managers, finance leaders, and business partners to explain variance drivers and improve processes.
• Drive standardisation, process efficiencies, and maintain internal controls in line with US GAAP and SOX policies.
• Maintain accurate task lists, own accounting conclusions, and oversee performance of direct reports.
• Create and update process documentation such as SOPs and job aids.
• Deliver internal and external audit requirements and support ad‑hoc projects.

Required profile

• Senior‑level accounting experience, preferably in payroll, benefits, and accrued liabilities.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and SOX compliance.
• Proven ability to work cross‑functionally and communicate accounting concepts clearly.
• Experience driving process improvements and managing documentation.
