Semiconductor Validation DevOps Engineer (Python)

About the role

UST is looking for a Validation DevOps Engineer with strong Python development skills to create scalable automation solutions for semiconductor platform validation. The role involves building and maintaining test frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, and integrating validation workflows across multiple hardware platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Python‑based automation frameworks and test scripts for hardware and firmware validation.
• Create and manage Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines to automate test execution, reporting, and deployment.
• Integrate automated test suites into pipelines and ensure reliable cross‑platform execution.
• Debug pipeline failures, automate repetitive tasks, and improve automation coverage and efficiency.
• Collaborate with firmware, hardware, validation, and software teams to analyze failures and deliver improvements.
• Maintain source code in Git, follow version‑control best practices, and produce technical documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
• 6+ years of experience in Python development, automation framework design, and Azure DevOps pipeline management.
• Strong understanding of hardware/firmware validation concepts and device communication interfaces.

Required skills

• Python (including OOP, SOLID principles, design patterns)

• Automation frameworks such as Pythia, PyTest, Robot Framework
• Hardware interfaces: PCIe, I2C, USB, UART, Ethernet
• Agile tools: Jira, Azure Boards
