About the role
We are seeking a Security Engineer 2 (Security Analyst) to join our cloud‑first environment. Working remotely from San José, you will partner with security leadership and technical teams to monitor threats, investigate incidents, and enhance our detection capabilities.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor, triage, investigate and respond to alerts across endpoint, network, identity, cloud and other security platforms.
- Assess incident scope, severity and impact, perform initial containment and escalate critical issues.
- Analyze logs, endpoint activity, network traffic and telemetry to uncover suspicious behavior and emerging threats.
- Conduct proactive threat‑hunting based on intelligence and observed adversary tactics.
- Develop, test and tune SIEM detection rules, correlation logic and alerting to reduce false positives.
- Administer, configure and maintain security technologies such as SIEM, EDR, IDS/IPS and other controls.
- Participate in vulnerability management: scanning, analysis, prioritization, remediation tracking and validation.
- Monitor threat‑intelligence sources and integrate findings into investigations and detection engineering.
- Create and maintain incident‑response procedures, playbooks, runbooks and lessons‑learned documentation.
- Support cybersecurity awareness programs, phishing simulations and employee training.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, IT and business stakeholders to strengthen controls and support compliance efforts.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Cybersecurity or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in information security, SOC operations or cybersecurity monitoring.
- Professional fluency in English and Spanish.
- Experience with security monitoring, incident response and alert triage.
Required skills
- SIEM, EDR, IDS/IPS, Identity and Access Management.
- MITRE ATT&CK framework and SOC processes.
- Vulnerability Management fundamentals.
- TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S, firewalls, VPNs and network security basics.
- Hands‑on experience with Windows, Linux and macOS environments.
