Security Consultant

About the role

We are looking for a Security Consultant to join Akamai’s Government Services Professional Services team. You will act as the primary contact for security services, helping U.S. and Canadian government agencies integrate and optimise Akamai’s web security solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross‑disciplinary teams to understand customer use cases and tailor security solutions.
• Partner with internal sales teams to align technical offerings with business objectives.
• Contribute to internal projects, best‑practice development and methodology improvement.
• Participate in training initiatives and knowledge‑sharing activities.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Hands‑on experience with internet protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, TLS/SSL) and understanding of CDN operation.
• Customer‑facing experience in a consultative environment.
• Interest in or possession of cybersecurity certifications (e.g., Security+, SSCP, GSEC).
• Familiarity with project‑management concepts and web/IT implementation practices.
