Risk Management and Compliance Officer (UG)

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Risk Management and Compliance Officer (UG) for its Costa Rica office. Reporting to the Chief of Mission and working closely with senior resource and program managers, the officer will help shape and operationalise risk and compliance frameworks that protect the organisation’s resources and reputation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain risk management and compliance systems in line with IOM policies.
• Strengthen internal controls and ensure adherence to financial regulations.
• Prepare accurate risk and compliance reports for senior management and headquarters.
• Provide functional guidance to program and resource teams on risk mitigation.
• Collaborate with the Regional Risk and Compliance Officer and Institutional Risk Division at HQ.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Business/Public Administration, Finance, Accounting, Audit, Compliance or a related field with at least five years of relevant experience, or a university degree with seven years of experience.
• Professional certification such as Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is required.
• Demonstrated experience in risk management, compliance monitoring and financial reporting.
