Resident Engineer – On‑site in Santa Teresa

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Resident Engineer to lead daily reporting and documentation for a luxury hospitality construction project in Santa Teresa, Costa Rica. The role requires close collaboration with site engineers and the international management team to ensure the project stays on schedule and complies with all standards.

Key responsibilities

• Enter daily report data into the project software, gathering information from site engineers on weather, personnel, equipment, work completed, materials, inspections, safety, and any issues.
• Organize and maintain technical documentation, project plans, RFIs, CVIs, non‑conformance reports, and HSE notices.
• Ensure compliance with local building codes, industry regulations, and company safety standards.
• Analyze operational challenges and propose process improvements to increase efficiency.
• Step in for the Site Engineer when needed, attend high‑level meetings, and support strategic decisions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Architecture.
• 3–5 years of experience in construction site roles such as Inspector, Project Engineer, Field Engineer, or Site Supervisor.
• Proficiency in English for communication with international teams.
• Strong knowledge of Costa Rican building codes and construction practices.

Required skills

• Procore or similar construction management software.
• General construction software and tools proficiency.
