About the role
The R&D Technician I will support new product development and transfer projects in an electrophysiology laboratory. The role involves assembling high‑quality medical devices, operating multiple machines, and performing minor setups during a central shift.
Key responsibilities
- Support R&D builds using machines and assembly processes such as laser, reflow, and adhesive bonding.
- Oversee day‑to‑day operations of the R&D laboratory.
- Assist in new process development, transfer activities, and lift‑and‑shift coordination.
- Train operators and technicians, acting as a “train‑the‑trainer”.
- Complete administrative tasks related to orders, CAPEX, and purchase orders.
- Collaborate with team leads, engineers, and area experts to implement practical ideas.
- Gather improvement ideas from production staff to boost quality and productivity.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area for pilot manufacturing.
Required profile
- High school diploma; technical degree in engineering, manufacturing, or related field.
- Active engineering student with no more than 25% of the degree completed.
- 0‑3 years of hands‑on experience in process development or manufacturing.
- Intermediate to advanced written and spoken English (must).
- Experience in a regulated environment (GMP, ISO, FDA) is a plus.
- Knowledge of good documentation practices.
- Six Sigma Yellow/Green Belt desirable.
- Basic knowledge of process validation and medical catheter assembly.
- Electromechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Familiarity with CAQ and SAP preferred.
