R&D Project Coordinator – Surgical Division

About the role

The R&D Project Coordinator will lead cross‑functional new product development and lifecycle management projects within the Surgical Division of a medical‑device company. The role drives project execution from initiation to commercialization, ensuring cost, schedule, scope and quality objectives are met while complying with design‑control and regulatory processes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead small to medium cross‑functional projects from concept through commercialization, including new product development, product enhancements and sustaining engineering.
• Develop and maintain integrated project plans, schedules, budgets and resource allocations to meet cost, schedule and performance targets.
• Coordinate Design History File (DHF) creation, transfers and required documentation in line with design‑control and product‑development processes.
• Drive team execution using standard PMO tools such as project charters, communication plans, risk registers (RAID logs) and Gantt charts.
• Facilitate project meetings, manage issues and risks, and proactively escalate when necessary.
• Partner with functional leaders to align objectives, priorities and expectations across stakeholders.
• Prepare and present clear project status updates, metrics and recommendations to teams and management.
• Support on‑market products and expansion projects as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience, with 1‑2 years in the medical‑device industry.
• Strong project‑management fundamentals including planning, scheduling, budgeting and execution.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (B2+); Spanish proficiency is a plus.
• Experience working in a regulated environment (FDA, ISO) is strongly preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools – Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
• Experience with PMO tools and methodologies (project charters, risk registers, Gantt charts).
• Familiarity with Design History File (DHF) documentation and design‑control processes.
