R Quality Assurance Lead (Remote)

About the role

This contract position is a remote, hourly role where you will lead quality assurance for R programming and data‑analysis projects that train AI models. You will evaluate AI‑generated R code, statistical explanations, visualisations, and data‑wrangling workflows, ensuring they meet strict project guidelines and reproducibility standards.

Key responsibilities

• Spot‑check R programming and data‑analysis items for correctness and consistency.
• Review AI‑generated R code, statistical explanations, visualisations, and modelling pipelines.
• Provide precise written feedback and enforce rubric adherence.
• Communicate project updates and R‑specific standards on Discord.
• Maintain style guides, trackers, FAQs, calibration tasks, and onboarding materials.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science).
• Strong command of English for clear feedback.
• 3+ years of professional experience using R for data analysis, statistics, or technical review.
• Ability to spot statistical, coding, or visualisation issues such as invalid assumptions, non‑reproducible code, or misleading charts.
• Experience leading remote teams of trainers, analysts, or reviewers is strongly preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency in R (base R, tidyverse, statistical modelling, visualisation).
• Familiarity with packages: dplyr, tidyr, ggplot2, readr, stringr, purrr, data.table, Shiny, R Markdown/Quarto, caret/tidymodels, lme4, survival.
• Experience with Git and reproducible workflow tools.
• Comfort with collaboration platforms such as Discord, Google Sheets/Docs, trackers, dashboards, and GitHub.
