Python Software Engineer (Remote, Part‑time Contractor)

About the role

We are looking for a skilled Python Software Engineer to join our remote team on a part‑time contract basis. You will build and maintain backend services that power our applications, working closely with cross‑functional stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain robust backend applications using Python and Django.
• Design and optimise PostgreSQL database schemas and queries for performance and reliability.
• Deploy, scale, and monitor applications on AWS services.
• Collaborate with product, design and operations teams to define requirements and deliver solutions.
• Write clean, well‑documented code following industry best practices.
• Troubleshoot, debug and resolve complex technical issues across the stack.

Required profile

• Expert‑level proficiency in Python and the Django framework.
• Hands‑on experience with PostgreSQL, including schema design and query optimisation.
• Strong knowledge of AWS deployment, scaling and monitoring tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Ability to work independently and proactively in a remote team environment.
