Purchaser & Supply Chain Coordinator

About the role

Chemelco International is hiring an experienced Purchaser & Supply Chain Coordinator in Costa Rica to support its operations across Central America and the Caribbean. You will manage day-to-day purchasing, replenishment and logistics, ensuring product availability, competitive costs and efficient inventory management. The role reports to the Head of Operations in the Netherlands and works closely with the Region 1 General Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Manage international purchasing, supplier relationships and purchase orders, ensuring competitive pricing and reliable deliveries.
• Plan replenishment, monitor inventory levels and coordinate stock management across the region.
• Coordinate international shipments, import and export documentation, customs processes and local logistics.
• Monitor total landed costs, freight expenses, supplier performance and delivery timelines.
• Maintain supplier documentation, product specifications and certificates, and coordinate quality-related issues with suppliers and internal teams.
• Keep accurate purchasing and inventory records in SAP, working with Sales, Finance and Operations.

Required profile

• At least 5 years of experience in international purchasing, logistics or supply chain coordination, including imports and inventory management.
• Strong knowledge of Costa Rican import procedures and international trade and customs operations across Central America and the Spanish-speaking Caribbean, supported by an established regional logistics network.
• Relevant qualification in Purchasing, Supply Chain, Logistics, International Trade or Business Administration, or equivalent practical experience.
• Fluent Spanish and professional written and spoken English.
• Preferred: experience in ingredients, food, chemicals or B2B distribution, with exposure to shelf-life management, regulated products, third-party warehouses and continuous process improvement.
