Professional Services Consultant - Accounting

About the role

FreeBalance is seeking a Professional Services Consultant to join its team in San Jose, Costa Rica. The consultant will work with public‑sector clients to implement and support FreeBalance solutions for public financial management, leveraging deep ERP knowledge.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and deploy FreeBalance solutions following ISO 9001:2015 certified methodology.
• Conduct business requirements reviews, create storyboards, and configure software to map client processes.
• Develop and execute acceptance test plans and deliver training, including Train‑the‑Trainer sessions.
• Gather financial and payroll system requirements, configure solutions, and transfer knowledge to clients.
• Provide project leadership from inception to completion and report progress to the Project Manager.

Required profile

• University degree in Accounting, Human Resources, Business Administration or related field.
• Professional financial/accounting designation (CPA, CMA, CGA) is an asset.
• Minimum 10 years of information systems experience, including 5 years in ERP implementation for financial management.
• Strong understanding of public‑sector financial management policies and processes.
• Excellent communication skills in Spanish and English.
