Production Supervisor (Shift A - B)

About the role

Baxter is hiring a Production Supervisor for Shift A and B at its Cartago plant. The supervisor oversees plant activities, ensures compliance with build requirements, specifications and procedures, and takes part in identifying GMP indicators and in setting up containment, corrective and preventive actions. The role sits within the Supervisor team, which develops new processes and tackles production issues.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain high standards of process control, including good process indicators, accurate oversight of production material inventories, accident prevention, DPMs, complaints and others.
• Uphold a safe work environment and encourage a collaborative atmosphere.
• Support compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and regulations such as FDA, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, SOX and 6S.
• Recruit, empower and develop personnel in the area, and own them with good results.
• Promote continuous improvement using Lean Six Sigma, DMAIC, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, Poka-Yoke, Kanban, JIT, Ishikawa diagrams and FMEA to reduce waste.
• Ensure production plans for mix and volume are met and that the flow of finished products remains uninterrupted.
• Ensure regulatory training needs of the team are met and support the work-team strategies of the plant.
• Coordinate with other functional areas on initiatives and projects.

Required profile

• 3 to 5 years of experience in supervision.
• Intermediate to advanced level of English.
• Knowledge of quality systems (FDA, GMP, ISO 9001).
• People with non-engineering backgrounds may apply, provided their suitability is confirmed and training plans may be offered.
