Principal Data Engineer – Remote (Latin America)

About the role

FullStack is looking for a Principal Data Engineer to join its talent network and work on remote, project‑based assignments for U.S. clients across Latin America. You will become an integral part of the client’s engineering team, collaborating daily with designers and developers to deliver high‑impact data solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, model, and optimise complex backend data structures and pipelines (SQL and NoSQL).
• Build, maintain, and scale large‑scale distributed systems and data infrastructures in production.
• Operate cloud infrastructure and manage data‑engineering workflows, ensuring reliability and performance.
• Implement continuous integration and delivery pipelines for data applications.
• Act as a technical anchor, mentoring team members and aligning technical initiatives.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders to translate business goals into robust engineering execution.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional software or data engineering experience.
• Advanced English communication skills (both oral and written).
• Completed a four‑year college degree.
• Proven experience with large, complex systems and Agile/Scrum environments.
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive, ownership‑driven mindset.
