About the role

We are conducting a confidential search for an experienced Plant Manager to lead the startup, operational launch, and long‑term growth of a new medical‑device manufacturing facility in Cartago, Costa Rica. This strategic position offers the chance to build operations from the ground up in a highly regulated, innovative environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the site start‑up and oversee the full operational launch of the new facility.
• Build and scale manufacturing processes while establishing a high‑performance culture.
• Manage manufacturing transfers and ensure compliance with ISO 13485, FDA, and CE regulations.
• Drive operational excellence through process optimization and continuous improvement.
• Oversee budget, cost optimization, and financial performance of the plant.
• Lead cross‑functional, global teams and foster collaboration across functions.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading manufacturing operations and site start‑ups.
• Strong knowledge of medical‑device regulations (ISO 13485, FDA, CE).
• Track record of operational excellence, process optimization, and business growth.
• Experience managing cross‑functional teams in a global setting.
• Solid financial acumen, including budget management and cost control.
• Fluency in English and Spanish.
• Willingness to travel internationally as needed.
