Plant Controller Specialist (Cost Accounting)

About the role

We are looking for a Plant Controller Specialist to join our finance team in Heredia, Costa Rica. The role focuses on cost accounting, budgeting, inventory valuation and ensuring compliance with multiple quality and environmental standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage comprehensive cost accounting processes and perform monthly inventory valuation and closing.
• Prepare and periodically review budgets, analysing variable and fixed costs.
• Assess production efficiency and audit internal control procedures.
• Develop manuals for internal standards and coordinate with external auditors.
• Ensure compliance with TL 9000, ISO 9001, ISO 17025, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001 and Lean/Sigma methodologies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or a related field.
• At least 2 years of accounting experience.
• Strong analytical abilities and experience handling large data sets.
• Proven communication skills for presenting to senior management.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel, including Pivot Tables.
• SAP (including Business Warehouse).
• Costing and inventory methods (average, FIFO, standard).
• Commodity hedging and industrial control reporting.
• Physical inventory control procedures.
