Payroll Analyst

About the role

Moody's is seeking a Payroll Analyst to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing for its U.S. and Canadian workforce. You will partner with a third‑party vendor, audit payroll data, and support cross‑functional teams while adhering to regulatory and internal controls.

Key responsibilities

• Process payroll for U.S. and Canada employees in collaboration with an external provider.
• Review, audit, and validate payroll inputs and outputs to ensure compliance with federal, state/provincial and local laws.
• Reconcile payroll reports, earnings, deductions and tax withholdings, proactively resolving discrepancies.
• Work with HR, Finance and Benefits teams on off‑cycle payments, terminations, retroactive adjustments and year‑end activities.
• Support internal and external audits by supplying payroll documentation and maintaining SOX control compliance.
• Maintain employee records in the payroll system, guaranteeing data integrity.

Required profile

• 3+ years of payroll operations experience, preferably with U.S. and/or Canadian regulations.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with high attention to detail.
• Experience collaborating with third‑party payroll vendors.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
• Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, HR, Business Administration or related field (or equivalent experience).

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with ADP or a similar HRIS/payroll system.
