Packaging Engineer

About the role

Oliver Healthcare Packaging is seeking a Packaging Engineer to join its remote team in Costa Rica. You will design sterile barrier packaging solutions for medical device and pharmaceutical customers while collaborating with global R&D, Quality, Operations, Sales, and Marketing teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop sterile barrier packaging for medical device and pharmaceutical clients.
• Provide technical guidance on material selection, packaging design, and regulatory compliance.
• Plan and execute laboratory testing, material and packaging evaluations.
• Lead technical investigations, root‑cause analysis, and product performance assessments.
• Support customer complaints, CAPA activities, and validation projects.
• Collaborate with global teams to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
• Develop technical resources and deliver training to customers and internal stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Engineering, Chemistry, or a related technical field.
• At least 3 years of experience in packaging engineering or a related discipline.
• Knowledge of sterile barrier systems, flexible packaging, and ISO 11607 standards.
• Experience with laboratory testing and analytical tools.
• Strong problem‑solving and communication abilities.
• Fluency in English and Spanish.
