Operational Excellence Expert

About the role

Join Lonza's Finance organization as an Operational Excellence Expert focused on Record-to-Report (R2R) processes. You will lead high‑impact strategic initiatives, drive continuous improvement, and enhance finance operations across multiple businesses and geographies.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and support global strategic initiatives within the R2R process area, partnering with the Global Process Owner organization.
• Drive end‑to‑end process improvements to increase efficiency, effectiveness, controls, and customer experience.
• Collaborate with Finance and cross‑functional teams to identify, develop, and implement sustainable optimization opportunities.
• Analyze operational and financial data to spot trends, formulate hypotheses, and manage change initiatives.
• Establish and maintain global R2R standards, documentation, controls, and governance.
• Develop metrics and reporting to monitor process quality, productivity, and continuous‑improvement outcomes.
• Deliver training, share best practices, and act as a subject‑matter expert to foster a culture of operational excellence.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration or related field.
• Strong experience in Financial Accounting, Management Accounting, and R2R processes with a proven record of process improvement.
• Professional accounting qualification (CIMA, CPA or equivalent).
• Experience with Lean Six Sigma, Kaizen or similar methodologies; Green Belt certification is a plus.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Technical aptitude in SQL, automation, workflow solutions, and data analysis.
