About the role

Cargill is seeking a permanent Plant Cleaning Operator for its food division in San Rafael, Alajuela, Costa Rica. The role involves maintaining the cleanliness and safety of production equipment and the plant environment while supporting quality and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure thorough cleaning and sanitation of equipment and plant areas.
• Follow established operational and pre‑operational procedures.
• Complete verification sheets for Senasa and FSQR quality checks.
• Perform deep cleaning using pressure washers, hoses, foamers, and the centralized cleaning system.
• Wash plant roofs daily on a rotating schedule.
• Assist with plant release activities on scheduled Sundays (approximately every two months).

Required profile

• Completed primary education or higher.
• Ability to read and write Spanish without difficulty.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Capable of lifting up to 25 kg and performing physical tasks such as bending, kneeling, and climbing stairs.
• Willingness to work in environments with noise, dust, chemicals, and to use personal protective equipment.

Required skills

• Operation of pressure washers.
• Handling of hoses.
• Use of foamers.
• Operation of a centralized cleaning system.
• Basic troubleshooting of cleaning equipment.
