National Project Officer – Integration Programme

About the role

The National Project Officer – Integration will support the management of IOM Costa Rica’s Integration Programme, which aims to facilitate the regular migration status and socioeconomic integration of migrants staying in Costa Rica. Working under the Head of Programs and the Integration Programme Coordinator, the officer will help ensure project activities are delivered effectively in the Greater Metropolitan Area.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in coordinating and monitoring operational, administrative, and financial aspects of the Integration Programme in line with IOM policies and donor requirements.
• Keep supervisors informed on implementation status, identify gaps, and propose corrective actions.
• Participate in developing work plans, budgets, monitoring & evaluation tools, and standard operating procedures.
• Collect, verify, and analyse data; update information management systems and social media platforms with project updates.
• Prepare and disseminate project reports according to IOM and donor guidelines.
• Liaise with donors, UN agencies, local authorities, government counterparts, and other stakeholders.
• Support capacity‑building activities for IOM staff, government partners, civil‑society organisations, and community members.
• Attend conferences, workshops, inter‑agency meetings, and other relevant forums.

Required profile

• Experience in project coordination and monitoring within humanitarian or development contexts.
• Familiarity with IOM policies, donor reporting requirements, and multi‑stakeholder collaboration.
• Ability to work under supervision and communicate project status effectively.
