Missionary Mentor

About the role

The Missionary Mentor supports missionaries in their effort to invite others to Christ by delivering the restored gospel. Working as an entry‑level individual contributor, the mentor provides coaching, instruction, and feedback across a variety of training settings.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver one‑on‑one coaching, small‑group facilitation, and large‑group workshops for missionaries.
• Prepare and present lessons following the approved curriculum, coordinating with a companion teacher when needed.
• Monitor Canvas participation and discussion boards, ensuring active engagement.
• Implement guidance from the Teacher Trainer, Manager of Training, and Senior Manager of Training.
• Attend weekly training meetings and co‑teacher sessions.
• Assist area leadership in coordinating with mission and Missionary Department leadership.
• Report progress and needs to leadership and coach missionaries during practice and live lessons.
• Participate in language proficiency assessments, role‑playing scenarios, and temporary duties at the MTC.

Required profile

• Returned missionary status.
• Fluency in the specified second language for language‑teaching positions.
• Outstanding coaching, facilitation, and training abilities.
• Strong knowledge of the Preach My Gospel curriculum.
• Excellent interpersonal, prioritization, professionalism, and leadership skills.
• Self‑motivated, receptive to feedback, and able to work well with others.

Required skills

• Canvas learning‑management system proficiency.
