Manufacturing Operator (Plating)

About the role

The Plating Operator is responsible for strictly following established processes to ensure maximum quality and precision. The role involves operating a continuous production line in a chemical environment, handling noise, and standing for the entire shift.

Key responsibilities

• Follow approved processes and notify the supervisor of any issues.
• Install and operate plating machines to coat metal parts with gold, nickel, matte tin, or other metals.
• Immerse workpieces in liquid metal for specific time periods.
• Read plating drawings and fabricate parts accordingly.
• Monitor and correct excess gold using X‑ray readings.
• Perform quality inspections and maintain required inspection forms and paperwork.
• Follow setup procedures (PICS) for all coating processes.
• Enter maintenance and PPE requests for open issues.
• Maintain and reduce waste levels while handling hazardous materials with proper PPE.
• Operate the PRISM tool correctly and adjust gold usage on the production line.
• Be flexible with break schedules to keep production lines running.

Required profile

• High school diploma (required).
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb.
• Willingness to comply with department safety rules.
• Availability for shift work and flexible break times.

Required skills

• Plating machine operation.
• Reading and interpreting plating drawings.
• X‑ray inspection for gold excess.
• Use of PRISM tool.
• Hazardous material handling with appropriate PPE.
