Manufacturing Engineer II - Medical Devices

About the role

Terumo Neuro is hiring a Manufacturing Engineer II in Alajuela, Costa Rica, to support the manufacturing of medical device products. The role covers writing or verifying specifications, maintaining product processes, and designing fixtures, test processes, equipment and raw materials so that subassemblies and finished products meet their requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Support existing manufacturing processes, new products, product changes and enhancements, as well as related tooling and fixtures.
• Support validation of product, equipment and processes.
• Interface with other departments to solve production problems.
• Monitor the equipment maintenance program.
• Investigate and test product processes, NCRs, DCs and EO's.
• Support prototype and pilot production, facilities and planning when appropriate.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related science field.
• At least two years of related experience.
• Intermediate written and oral English (B1-B2).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) and SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD.
• Statistical knowledge (Green Belt or Black Belt).
• Desired: reading and preparing technical documentation, knowledge of standard machine shop equipment and processes, and knowledge of medical and technical development.

The position involves extended computer use and standing or sitting, light lifting up to 25 lbs, and may require working in environments with possible radiation exposure such as cath labs.
