Maintenance Technician I

About the role

Medtronic is seeking an entry‑level Maintenance Technician I to support its manufacturing plant. The role focuses on installing, maintaining, and repairing production equipment while ensuring compliance with preventive maintenance programs.

Key responsibilities

• Perform installation, routine preventive maintenance, and corrective repairs on line manufacturing and plant equipment.
• Locate and diagnose equipment failures, replace defective components, and conduct basic troubleshooting using electronic test equipment, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Maintain accurate maintenance and repair logs and use hand, power, and test tools safely.
• Assist in redesigning optical, vacuum, electrical, electronic, or mechanical subsystems for integration into existing equipment.
• Estimate labor and material costs, prepare requisitions, and support technical documentation.
• Provide technical support for production, operations, safety, testing, process improvement, and product development activities.

Required profile

• Technical education in electromechanics, mechatronics, industrial electronics, or a related technical field.
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices.
• Minimum secondary school education (9th grade or equivalent).
• No prior work experience required; however, up to two years of experience in a similar role is considered a plus.
• Basic English proficiency is desirable.
• Familiarity with the medical device industry is an advantage.
