Machinist I – Production Support

About the role

Medtronic is seeking an entry‑level Machinist to support production and distribution operations. The role involves setting up and operating precision machine tools to produce high‑quality metal components for medical devices.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and operate lathes, milling machines, broaching machines, planers and precision grinding equipment.
• Interpret engineering drawings, sketches and technical specifications to determine machining sequences, cuts, feeds and speeds.
• Use hand tools and precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions and tolerances.
• Perform standard calculations for tooling, feeds, speeds and material removal.
• Assemble precision parts into mechanical sub‑assemblies and identify required materials and equipment.
• Modify CNC programs on numerically controlled machines as needed.
• Monitor and verify product quality using statistical process control or other quality procedures.
• Report equipment malfunctions and support adjustments to processes and methods.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent (Bachillerato en Educación media).
• Technical training in precision mechanics.
• Desirable experience in the medical device industry.
• Ability to work under close supervision and follow standard procedures.
