Legal Case Manager

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Legal Case Manager to join Cedar Financial’s cross‑border ARM team in San Jose, Costa Rica. The role focuses on reviewing debt‑collection files, placing eligible cases with partner attorneys, and ensuring smooth case progression.

Key responsibilities

• Review and assess debt‑collection files for legal eligibility and verify required documentation.
• Identify and place files with appropriate partner attorney offices.
• Maintain regular communication with attorneys, monitoring case status, settlements, and judgments.
• Collaborate with legal CSRs, compliance, CSM, and accounting teams to support efficient file liquidation.
• Participate in meetings to discuss case progress and propose process improvements.
• Maintain accurate records, prepare regular status reports, and ensure compliance with company policies and legal regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Administration or a related field.
• 2–4 years of experience in legal case management, debt collection, or a similar role.
• Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple cases independently and collaboratively.
• Understanding of compliance and legal processes.

Required skills

• Proficiency with legal case management software.
• Advanced knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
