Lead Engineering Technician

About the role

The Lead Engineering Technician will oversee the implementation, modification and monitoring of quality, safety and efficiency for discrete production processes within Johnson & Johnson’s MedTech cardiovascular manufacturing site in Grecia, Costa Rica. Working independently or with minimal supervision, the role ensures equipment set‑up, operation and troubleshooting meet stringent regulatory and performance standards.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and modify production processes for unit‑based items assembled from component parts.
• Monitor and improve quality, safety and efficiency metrics.
• Set up, operate, and troubleshoot manufacturing equipment.
• Conduct root‑cause analysis and recommend corrective actions.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to drive continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and internal standards.
• Document process changes and maintain accurate production records.

Required profile

• Ability to work independently on complex assignments.
• Strong judgment, initiative and problem‑solving skills.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment handling discrete production.
• Capacity to interpret technical drawings and work instructions.
• Good communication skills to convey recommendations.
