Lead Analyst - Pharma Analytics (Costa Rica)

About the role

Roche is hiring a Lead Analyst for its RSS Business Analytics team at the Costa Rica hub. You will drive advanced analytics initiatives for global Roche affiliates and act as an embedded strategic thought partner for Therapy Area (TA) leads, delivering end-to-end analytics in pharma commercial operations. You will translate complex data into business narratives, guide senior stakeholders and mentor junior analysts.

Key responsibilities

• Drive end-to-end execution of complex pharma commercial initiatives, including brand performance, disease market overviews, patient adherence, targeting, payer mix and marketing ROI.
• Serve as an embedded analytics advisor to TA leads and insights managers, turning market dynamics into actionable strategies and recommendations.
• Turn complex analyses into persuasive business narratives and high-impact presentations for executives.
• Coach and mentor junior analysts and interns on analytics best practices, domain knowledge and data structuring.
• Partner with global cross-functional teams across Costa Rica, the US and India, working across overlapping time zones.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Industrial Engineering, Biotechnology or a related quantitative field.
• 5 to 8 years of analytics or consulting experience, with 4 to 6 years in pharma, biotech or healthcare analytics.
• Deep expertise in US pharma commercial operations and secondary datasets such as IQVIA sales data, 867, LAAD claims and Veeva.
• Experience in oncology, neurology or immunology.
• Currently based in Costa Rica or holds valid work authorization for San José; no relocation benefits are offered.

Required skills

• SQL, Excel and at least one programming language (Python, R or SAS).
• Exposure to Salesforce or Veeva is a plus.
• Strong problem-structuring, hypothesis-driven analysis and ability to present to senior leadership with minimal supervision.
