Junior Accountant (Heredia)

About the role

DHL is looking for a Junior Accountant to join its team in Heredia, Costa Rica. You will support the timely and accurate preparation of monthly financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting principles and corporate policies.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and post general ledger journal entries accurately and on schedule.
• Generate month‑end ledger reports and support the month‑end closing process.
• Record intercompany invoices, follow up on processing status, and perform inter‑company reconciliations.
• Issue monthly manual recharges (e.g., SLA recharges) and support balance‑sheet and profit‑and‑loss analytical reviews.
• Prepare and review balance‑sheet account reconciliations in line with DHL Express Regional Operating Model.
• Support internal financial accounting controls, quality control of outsourced activities, and audit processes.
• Maintain documentation such as SOPs, job aids, process flows, and period‑end timetables.

Required profile

• Technical degree in Accounting or a university student/graduated in Finance or Accounting.
• 1–2 years of experience in finance or accounting‑related functions.
• Intermediate proficiency in English and Excel (mandatory).
• Experience with SAP is desirable.
