Jefe de Operaciones Contables – Sector Bancario

About the role

The organization is seeking a highly qualified professional to lead its Accounting Operations department within a regulated banking institution. This senior position is ideal for candidates looking for a new challenge and who want to contribute to the operational success of a financial entity.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and coordinate departmental activities to ensure operational efficiency, accounting accuracy, and regulatory compliance.
• Maintain and supervise accounting auxiliaries for asset and liability accounts.
• Provide technical operational support to all areas of the organization, acting as a liaison between operations and other departments.
• Define and enforce policies, procedures, and internal controls that safeguard financial and operational information.
• Lead the team by setting goals, fostering professional development, and ensuring quality and timely delivery of outputs.

Required profile

• University degree in Accounting (mandatory).
• Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience in accounting and operational roles within a financial institution regulated by SUGEF.
• Current certification from BCCR on General Options of SIMPE (mandatory).
• Proven experience leading teams at coordinator, supervisor, or senior analyst level.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of accounting auxiliaries.
• Expertise in asset and liability account management.
• Familiarity with active products, credit portfolio, and passive banking products.
• Knowledge of cryptocurrencies.
• Experience with AI tools and automation technologies.
