Java Software Engineer – React.js UI Specialist

About the role

We are looking for a highly skilled Java Software Engineer with strong UI expertise in React.js and JavaScript. The role combines backend development with front‑end UI work and includes mentoring responsibilities within a fast‑paced, hybrid environment based in Heredia, Costa Rica.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high‑performance Java applications using Spring Boot and REST/SOAP web services (approximately 70% of time).
• Mentor junior developers, conduct code reviews, and support team planning and execution (approximately 30% of time).
• Build and enhance responsive, interactive user interfaces with React.js and JavaScript.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver end‑to‑end features focused on performance, scalability, and maintainability.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex technical issues in both backend and frontend components.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 7+ years of professional experience in Java development, with strong object‑oriented and multithreaded programming skills.
• Proven experience building REST and SOAP web services.
• Hands‑on expertise in React.js and JavaScript for dynamic UI development.
• Strong problem‑solving, debugging, and analytical abilities.
• Experience working in agile environments with a focus on continuous delivery.
