IT Security Engineer III

About the role

Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking an IT Security Engineer III to join its Corporate Infrastructure and Security – Risk Management team. You will help protect the global technology infrastructure that enables breakthrough scientific discoveries.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and execute the global cybersecurity risk management program.
• Lead security initiatives across cloud, endpoint protection, threat detection, and product security.
• Conduct risk analysis, third‑party security assessments, and information security assessments.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to apply security best practices and maintain consistent policies.
• Provide consultative advice on security design aligned with business needs.
• Maintain strong relationships with IT, Legal, and Privacy teams.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of the information security control framework and assessment program.
• Drive visibility of information security risk management and influence strategic decisions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Computer Science, Risk Management, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in enterprise IT security engineering, risk analysis, or related cybersecurity roles.
• Advanced degree may substitute for part of the experience.
• Strong expertise in at least one major security domain (cloud, endpoint, network, or application security).
• Excellent research, writing, and presentation skills.
• Ability to solve complex problems and work with minimal oversight.
