Intermediate Projects Engineer – Control Systems

About the role

The SYSS Engineering Group seeks an Intermediate Projects Engineer to support control system projects across Latin America and the United States. You will work on design, implementation, testing and commissioning of Emerson DCS (Delta V & Ovation) and SCADA solutions for power and process plants.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement hardware databases, logic, graphics and data links for non‑complex solutions.
• Select appropriate hardware and software, review documentation for quality and completeness.
• Collaborate with project technical leaders to verify requirements are met.
• Lead factory acceptance testing (FAT), site acceptance testing (SAT), commissioning and plant start‑up activities.
• Develop functional designs, reverse‑engineer retrofit projects, and create implementation and commissioning plans.
• Supervise remote engineering teams and subcontractors during engineering and commissioning phases.
• Track project progress, budget performance, risk assessment and produce weekly reports.

Required profile

• Effective communication with customers and internal teams.
• Proactive, independent work style with minimal supervision.
• Ability to lead small engineering groups (1‑3 engineers) on low‑ to medium‑complexity projects.
