About the role
Under the direction of the Director of English Learner Programs or their designee, the Instructional Assistant supports the instruction of students in English and a designated second language. The focus is on developing oral and written language skills for bilingual learners.
Key responsibilities
- Assist the director and site administrator in delivering bilingual instruction.
- Support classroom activities that target oral and written language development.
- Collaborate with teachers to prepare instructional materials.
- Participate in district‑required proficiency and language exams.
- Maintain records of student progress and provide feedback.
Required profile
- High school diploma.
- Minimum of 48 college units or successful completion of the district proficiency test.
- Experience working with children in an educational or therapy setting.
- Bilingual Spanish proficiency is mandatory.
- Ability to submit official or unofficial college transcripts and proof of high school graduation.
