About the role
The AVID Tutor supports students in the Advancement via Individual Determination program, providing academic assistance up to a maximum of 19.5 hours per week.
Key responsibilities
- Provide tutoring to AVID program students, up to 19.5 hours per week.
- Attend mandatory AVID tutor training each year.
- Maintain required documentation such as resume, high school diploma, and college transcripts.
- Ensure compliance with NCLB requirements for student progress.
- Track student progress and report outcomes to program coordinators.
Required profile
- High school diploma (or equivalent); completion of AP or college‑prep courses preferred.
- Concurrent enrollment in college or recent college graduate; 48 semester units or an Associate degree, or pass District exam.
- Prior experience working with students or tutoring is preferred.
- Must possess a valid high school diploma or equivalent recognized by an accredited U.S. institution.
- Submit required documents (resume, high school diploma, transcripts) with application.
