About the role
The Instructional Assistant – Biliterate works under the direction of the Director of English Learner Programs (or designee) and the site administrator to support classroom instruction for students learning English and a designated second language, with a focus on oral and written language development.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in delivering bilingual instruction in English and Spanish.
- Support students in developing oral and written language skills.
- Collaborate with teachers to prepare instructional materials and activities.
- Participate in district‑required proficiency examinations and assessments.
- Maintain records of student progress and attendance.
Required profile
- High school diploma.
- Minimum of 48 college units or successful completion of the district proficiency test.
- Experience working with children in an educational or therapy setting.
- Bilingual Spanish proficiency is required.
- Official or unofficial college transcript and proof of high school graduation.
Required skills
- Bilingual Spanish communication.
