Industrial Engineering Specialist I

About the role

UPS is seeking an Industrial Engineering Specialist I to support multiple groups within the IE function. The role focuses on data gathering, analysis, and reporting to aid work measurement and operational planning activities.

Key responsibilities

• Gather and analyze data required for work measurement and operational planning.
• Maintain and update data within operating plans to highlight potential changes.
• Verify the correct application of work measurement techniques.
• Conduct audits to identify non‑compliant processes and record exceptions.
• Develop action plans and secure management commitments for corrective actions.
• Assess the impact of short‑ and long‑range forecasts on operating plans.
• Respond to ad‑hoc reporting requests and generate statistical reports.
• Maintain forecasts, operating plans, and tracking spreadsheets for future reference.
• Develop annual staffing projections based on trend analysis.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or international equivalent, preferably in Engineering or a related field.
• Understanding of operational barriers and ability to improve designs, methods, processes, and flows.
• Technical mindset with experience resolving information‑system reporting issues.
• Industrial Engineering experience is preferred.
• Willingness to work flexible shift hours, including weekends and travel.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Access functionality.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, database creation/maintenance).
• Ability to write complex queries and create databases as needed.
