Human Resources Technician (G05)

About the role

The Organization of American States is seeking a Human Resources Technician (G05) to provide administrative, program and technical assistance across a wide range of HR functions. This support‑type position ensures consistent application of OAS rules and procedures while assisting staff throughout recruitment, placement, performance evaluation and other HR processes.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing, validating and entering information into the HR module of Oracle, ensuring compliance with OAS policies.
• Receive, review and process staff requests and documentation such as vacancy announcements, insurance forms, internship applications, home‑leave requests and visa matters.
• Prepare and maintain personnel files, compile relevant documents, and organize interviews, video conferences and assessment centers.
• Schedule selection panels, arrange logistics, follow up on recruitment steps and communicate with candidates.
• Support HR officers with unusual requests, proposing solutions and submitting required forms.

Required profile

• High school or technical/commercial training with five years of relevant experience, or advanced training with three years of experience.
• Proficiency in both Spanish and English (reading, writing and speaking).
• Strong communication skills, tact, discretion and diplomacy.
• Desirable knowledge of the OAS mandate, Inter‑American agenda and French and/or Portuguese.
