HR Manager – Shared Service Center

About the role

Join Lonza’s San José Shared Service Center as an HR Manager, partnering closely with business leaders to shape people strategies that drive operational excellence and future growth. You will act as the primary HR business partner, translating business objectives into effective people and organizational initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the main HR partner for leaders, aligning HR priorities with business strategy.
• Support core HR processes including performance management, talent reviews, succession and workforce planning.
• Provide employee‑relations guidance, ensuring compliance with Costa Rican labor laws and consistent policy application.
• Collaborate with regional and global HR teams to roll out global initiatives and maintain standards.
• Contribute to organizational design, change management and transformation projects.
• Analyze HR data and metrics to identify trends and inform decision‑making.
• Coach leaders to build capability, boost engagement and foster an inclusive, accountable culture.

Required profile

• 5–10 years of HR experience, including time as an HR Business Partner in an operational or Shared Service Center environment.
• Strong business acumen with the ability to link HR strategies to business outcomes.
• Solid employee‑relations expertise and sound judgment in handling complex cases.
• Experience working in a matrixed, international setting and partnering with regional/global stakeholders.
• Proficiency in analyzing HR data and translating insights into actions.
• Full professional proficiency in English and Spanish, both written and spoken.
• Collaborative, values‑driven attitude with integrity, resilience and the ability to navigate complexity.
