Hospitality Bookkeeper – Remote Contractor

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper with a strong background in the hospitality industry to join Howard Financial’s remote team. You will manage daily hotel accounting operations, ensure accurate reconciliations, and provide timely financial reports to support our clients and leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Process and record daily hotel transactions, including revenue, expenses, and payroll.
• Perform bank and credit‑card reconciliations for multiple hotel properties.
• Prepare and deliver regular financial statements and management reports.
• Support leadership with ad‑hoc financial analysis and budgeting.
• Maintain compliance with hotel brand accounting standards (e.g., Marriott, Hyatt, Hilton).

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience in the hospitality sector.
• Strong attention to detail, organized and proactive work style.
• Fluent English with excellent written and verbal communication.
• Availability to work during 9 AM–5 PM EST with a structured schedule.

Required skills

• Proficiency in SAGE, QuickBooks and advanced Excel.
• Familiarity with Bill.com or Ramp is a plus.
• Solid understanding of hotel accounting processes and daily financial operations.
