Head of Sports and After‑School Programme

About the role

Blue Valley School, a private school in Costa Rica, is seeking a Head of Sports and After‑School to lead its extracurricular programme, enriching student life through sport, clubs and enrichment activities.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and oversee a broad range of high‑quality sports, clubs and enrichment activities.
• Manage coaches, activity leaders and external providers, ensuring effective delivery.
• Organise fixtures, tournaments and special events.
• Ensure all programmes meet safeguarding, health and safety standards.
• Oversee resources, facilities, equipment and budgets.
• Collaborate with school leaders, staff and families to continuously strengthen and expand the sports and after‑school provision.

Required profile

• Relevant degree in Sports Education, Physical Education, Sports Management, Education or a related field.
• Proven experience leading sports programmes, after‑school activities or extracurricular provision within a school setting.
• Strong understanding of student wellbeing, inclusion and development through sport and enrichment.
• Ability to lead and inspire coaches, instructors and external providers.
