Hardware Engineering Manager – PCB Design Team

About the role

Lead and develop a team of PCB layout designers in Costa Rica, overseeing semiconductor test projects from concept through production. Ensure high‑quality, on‑time delivery while driving technical excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Manage, mentor and prioritize work for PCB layout designers, ensuring schedules are met.
• Guide end‑to‑end PCB design, approving for functionality, manufacturability, cost and compliance with industry standards.
• Partner with global site leaders to set timelines, allocate resources and monitor project progress.
• Provide technical leadership on component placement, routing, layer management and resolve complex design challenges.
• Lead design reviews, enforce IPC and company standards, and collaborate with hardware, manufacturing and project teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 2 years in technical leadership and 5 years of hands‑on PCB design experience.
• Strong communication, organizational and problem‑solving abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with PCB design tools such as Cadence Allegro, Altium Designer or KiCAD.
• Deep knowledge of multi‑layer board design, high‑speed routing and design‑for‑manufacturability (DFM).
• Familiarity with IPC standards (e.g., IPC‑2221).
