Freelance Azure Engineer for Cloud Migrations

About the role

This freelance position supports on‑premises‑to‑cloud migrations and provisions dedicated Azure compute environments for newly acquired entities. You will work closely with the Infrastructure Architect and Project Lead to deliver secure, cost‑effective Azure solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Assess on‑prem workloads for migration feasibility and develop migration runbooks, cutover and rollback plans.
• Provision and configure Azure compute, storage, networking, Azure AD/Entra ID integration, backup and monitoring.
• Execute lift‑and‑shift or re‑platform migrations, perform workload discovery and dependency mapping.
• Support post‑migration cost optimisation, right‑sizing and document architecture for steady‑state operations.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience with Azure infrastructure (VMs, storage, networking, Azure AD).
• Hands‑on experience with cloud migration methodologies and tools such as Azure Migrate.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure‑as‑Code (ARM templates, Terraform or Bicep) and Windows Server services.
